We use various combinations of films and intensifying screens of rare earth type in clinic. This study examines physical sharpness (MTF) and physical granularity (RMS) of films (CP-G, MXG-1 used with fine intensifying screen, medium intensifying screen, and fast intensifying screen respectively. The results are as follows:
1. Contrast and sensitivity depend on kinds of films even in the case of intensifying screens with the same sensitivity.
2. Physical sharpness depends on kinds of films even in the case of intensifying screens with the same sensitivity.
3. Physical sharpness decreases as the sensitivity of the intensifying screen increases.
4. There is a big difference in granularity according to kinds of films even in the case of intensifying screens with the same sensitivity.
5. Physical granularity decreases as the sensitivity of the intensifying screen increases.
6. The concentration rate which produces the best granularity is D = 1.5 in the case of CP-G film while it is D=2.0 in the case of MXG-1film.
7. Both MTF and RMS are good in the case of CP-G film with low sensitivity and contrast among films used with the same intensifying screen.
