This paper was aimed at taking a brief look at the life and poem of Song Ho Baek jinnam. In summary, this is as follows: One of the most prominent things in Baek Jin-nam’s life is that he has gained fame for calligraphy and poem since childhood under the influence of his father, Baek Kwanghoon. Baek Jinnam’s writing was right behind Wang Huiji and Jongyo, and the poem was praised for its strong tendency to Tang Dynasty poetry.
Chapter 3 gives an overview of Baek jinnam’s poems. Theme of the poem by Baek Jin-nam suggests that it is a common theme in the poems of literati during the Joseon Dynasty. However, in Baek Jin-nam’s poem, there are three main topics that should be noted: First, it looks like living a peaceful life in Gangho. The poem is shown in Seoul and Yeongam when Baek Jin-nam was young and old. Second, they are poems that reveal consciousness in relation to the Imjin War. Baek Jinnam went through the Imjin War in person and worked in Sung cheonji and Yi Sunshin’s military. Therefore, it reveals various rituals related to the Imjin War, such as the suffering caused by the war, praise for the longevity of China, and pride of literature. Third, these poems reveal the difficulties of the road to the envoy and the longing for his hometown. Although Baek Jinnam did not serve as a government official, he was encouraged by Yoo Geun to join the envoy’s group. At this time, he describes difficulties on his way to an envoy his longing for his hometown in poetry.
