개별화 교수를 위한 open school system에 관한 연구 = (A) Study on the Open School System for Individualized Instruction

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대 고도로 발달한 산업사회에서, 교육인구가 증가함에 따라 문제시되고있는 교육의 질적 향상은, 시급히 해결되어야 할 교육의 당면과제로 대두되고 있다. 또한 각 학습자의 발달과정에서의 차이와 다양한 학습활동에 대한 연구가 진행됨에 따라 학습자간의 개인차 문제가 중요시 되었고 이에따라 효과적인 교육방법의 모색이 이루어지고 있다.
교수문제를 해결하고 효과적인 교육방법을 모색하기 위하여 영국과 미국등지에서 도입되어 전개되고 있는 개별화 교수는, 전통적인 일제수업 형태를 부정하고 종래의 학년 및 학급조직을 해체시킴으로써, 교수의 개별화를 도모하여 교육의 질을 향상시키고자 하는 획기적인 시도이다.
본 연구의 목적은 개별화 교수의 한 교육체제인 개방교육체제 (Open School System)에 관하여 그 교육목적 및 교수-학습체제 그리고 개방교육(Open School Education)의 실제에 관하여 문헌을 통하여 연구, 고찰하는 것이다.
본 연구는 문헌연구로 연구내용은 다음과 같다.
1. 개별화 교수와 개방교육의 개념 및 특성에 관하여 연구한다.
2. 개방교육체제에 관하여 개방교육의 목적, 교수-학습체제, 교사의 역할에 대하여 고찰한다.
교수-학습체제에서는 개별화 교수를 위한 교수-학습과정과, Gla-ser모형을 중심으로 교수체제의 체제적 접근을 단계별로 연구한다. 또한 집단조직, 교수시설 및 교수자료의 활용, 학습공간과 시간의 융통성있는 계획, 평가방법에 관하여 밝힌다.
3. 현재 미국에서 개발되어 적용하고 있는 개방교육체제 (Open School System)로 Apollo 학교, Willscon학교, John Dawey학교에 관하여 고찰한다.
본 연구에서 문헌을 통하여 연구, 고찰한 개방교육체제는 현재 영국과 미국등지에서 유치원 및 국민학교 수준에서 널리 전개되고 있으며, 중등학교까지도 그 적용이 이루어지고 있다.
개방교육체제를 적용하는데 있어서 학습자간의 개인차 인지, 체제적 접근의 교수체제 도입, 다양한 집단조직, 여러가지 학습활동을 위한 교수시설 및 자료의 활용, 학습공간과 시간의 융통성있는 계획, 직접적인 관찰에 의한 평가등이 학습의 효과에 영향을 미치게 된다.
우리나라 교육체제에 있어서 이러한 개방교육체제는 그 실현이 요원하다고도 보겠다. 그러나 개방교육체제가 효과적인 교육방법으로서 교육의 질적 향상을 도모하는 것이라는 점을 감안할 때, 우리나라 실정에 맞는 적절한 개별화 교수체제를 모색하기 위하여, 개별화 교수 및 개방교육체제에 관한 계속적인 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As the number of populace in need of education is increasing in today's highly developed industrialized society, the improvement of education in quality is to be a problem and a confronted issue which must be solved urgently. And as the differences in learning developmental process of learners and research of learning activities in variety are proceeded, the individual differences of learners are to be dealt with importance and an effective educational method is being seeked thereto.
To solve teaching problem and seek an effective educational method, the individualized instruction which has introduced from the United Kingdom and the U.S.A. and now being practiced is a reformative attempt to try individualization of instructions and improve quantity in the education by denial of traditional uniform teaching style and dissolution of the conventional organization of school years and classes.
The purpose of this study is to research and consider open education which is a teaching system of the individualized instruction about its educational purpose and teaching-learning system, and in its practicality through the references.
This study concentrates mainly on a study of literature concerned about the following subjects:
1. To study the concept and characteristics of individualized instruction and open education.
2. To consider purpose, teaching-learning system and roles of teacher in the open education in respect to the open educational system.
To study the systematic approach of instructional system step by step, on the teaching-learning process for the individualized instruction and the Glaser model as for the teaching-learning system. And also to clarify that utilization of instructional facilities and instructional media, flexible scheduling of learning space and time, and for evaluation method.
3. To take into account for Apollo school, Wilson School and John Dewey School which are currently developed and being applied as the open educational system in the U.S.A.
The open educational system studied and considered through the literature in this study are broadly applied by kindergartens and elementary school level in the U.K. and U.S,A., and secondary schools as well.
In application of the open educational system, individual differences of learners, introduction of instructional system of the systematic approach, grouping in variety, instructional facilities and media for various learning activities, flexible scheduling of learning space and time, evaluation by direct observation will affect the effectiveness of learning.
An application of these open educational systems in our country may be deemed to be far ahead. However, taking into consideration that the open educational system is for enhancing quality in education as an efficient educational method, a steady research for individualized instruction and then open educational system to seek an adequate individualized instructional system must be made.
