『어른 입교 예식』의 ‘단계별 입교 예식’에 대한 교리 교육적 성찰과 전망 = A catechetical reflection and prospect on ‘the Stages of the Rite of Christian Initiation’ of the Ordo initationis christianae adultorum

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 오늘날 한국 천주교회의 예비 신자 교리 교육을 쇄신하기 위해『어른 입교 예식』(Ordo initiationis christianae adultorum)이 제시하는 ‘단계별 입교 예식’과 그 지침들을 교리 교육적 차원에서 분석하였다. 20세기의 전례 운동과 교리 교육 운동으로 촉발되고 제2차 바티칸 공의회를 통해 절정에 이른 예비 신자 교리 교육을 위한 쇄신의 노력은 1972년 반포된『어른 입교 예식』을 통해 구체적인 결실을 얻게 된다. 초기 교회의 단계별 입교 과정을 현대적으로 복원한 이 예식서는 예비 신자 교리 교육이 단순히 지적인 차원의 교리의 습득 과정이 아니라 교회 공동체 전체의 도움과 함께 신앙을 이해하고 믿음으로 고백하며(lex credendi), 신앙의 신비를 거행하고(lex orandi), 신앙의 가르침에 따라 사랑을 실천하여(lex vivendi) 그리스도인의 신앙생활 전체에 점진적으로 젖어 드는 영적인 여정으로 제시한다. 이러한 신학적 원리를 한국 천주교회의 예비 신자 교리 교육안에 수용하기 위해 예비 신자 교리 교육의 목적과 방법, 그리고 내용에 대한 인식의 변화와 통합적 예비 신자 관리, 그리고 사목자와 교리 교사의 체계적인 양성에 대한 전망을 제시하였다.

In response to challenges faced by the Catholic Church in Korea concerning the catechumenate, this study offers a focused analysis of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) from a catechetical standpoint. Initiated in 1972, the RCIA represents a significant reform effort to overcome obstacles in the catechumenate. Serving as a modern restoration of ancient Christian initiation practices, the RCIA unfolds as a spiritual journey that seamlessly integrates various dimensions of the Christian life: understanding and confessing faith (lex credendi), celebrating the mysteries of faith (lex orandi), and practicing love in accordance with faith teachings (lex vivendi), all within the supportive embrace of the church community. This journey, outlined in the RCIA, facilitates the gradual immersion of catechumens into the intricacies of Christian life. To effectively incorporate the RCIA into catechumenate practices, this study proposes a shift in the perception of the catechumenate, the integrated management of catechumens aligned with the evangelization process, and the systematic training of catechists. These suggested changes aim to enrich the catechetical experience and ensure a seamless integration of the RCIA within the broader framework of the Catholic Church in Korea.
