This study examines the evolution of managerial leadership at Yuhan Corporation from 1961 to 2024, focusing on the leadership styles of three key executives: Yeon Man-Hee, Lee Jung-Hee, and Cho Wook-Je, and their influence on organizational performance, adaptability, and strategic efficacy. The research employs a comprehensive multi-method design, integrating qualitative insights from semi-structured interviews with 12 senior executives and 40 employees, and archival analysis of 1,405 news articles and 120 corporate reports. Yeon Man-Hee's centralized leadership prioritized stability but restricted adaptability due to rigid communication and conservative policies. In contrast, Lee Jung-Hee and Cho Wook-Je adopted collaborative and adaptive leadership styles that drove transformation, innovation, and growth. Their emphasis on strategic alliances significantly enhanced Yuhan's global competitiveness, innovation outcomes, and market positioning. This study underscores adaptive leadership and strategic collaboration as essential drivers of innovation and sustainable competitive advantage in today’s complex global environment. It advocates for cultivating flexibility, inclusivity, and strategic foresight as critical qualities for leaders to build resilience and drive long-term success.
