      The purpose of this study is to identify the variety of entrance designs in high-rise multi-family housing by classifying the types of entrance spaces and analysing their characteristics. The entrance spaces as territories of transitional areas in the multi-family housing are divided into those to housing sites, to apartment buildings and to dwelling units. The entrances to housing sites are subdivided into several types by their access types and architectural forms, those to apartment buildings are by their relation to the ground, their spatial forms and functions, and those to dwelling units are by their internal systems of the buildings.
