2018년 평창동계올림픽 유치가 한국 썰매종목 발전에 미친 영향 고찰

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 2018년 평창동계올림픽 유치가 스켈레톤, 봅슬레이 종목의 발전에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 고찰해보고자 진행되었다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 스켈레톤과 봅슬레이와 관련된 문헌들을 분석함과 더불어 종목의 발전과정에 대해 객관적 진술을 해줄 수 있는 대상자들에 대하여 선수군, 지도자군, 행정가군, 전문가군으로 나누어 총 6명을 선정하였고, 이들에 대한 인터뷰 내용이 자료분석에 이용되었다.
본 연구를 통해 확인된 2018년 평창동계올림픽 유치가 스켈레톤, 봅슬레이 종목의 발전에 미친 영향을 정리해보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 동계올림픽 유치를 위한 노력에 일환으로 스켈레톤, 봅슬레이 실업팀 창단과 실업팀 선수 증원, 국가대표선수 증원이 이루어지게 되었고, 그 결과 선수인원 부족 때문에 겪던 어려움이 해소되며 이는 경기력 발전에 영향을 미치게 되었다. 둘째, IOC실사단의 동계올림픽 개최지 점검을 앞두고, 훈련시설에 대한 어필을 위해 슬라이딩 경기장 건설보다도 앞서 스타트 훈련장을 건설을 하게 되었다. 이는 선수들의 스타트 능력향상과 더불어 선수선발의 과학화에 영향을 미치게 되었다. 셋째, 동계올림픽유치로 인한 국가지원금과 후원업체, 스폰서 증가에 따라 전문 외국인 지도자 영입으로 훈련의 양과 질이 근본적으로 변하게 되었다. 또한 이와 더불어 평창 동계올림픽은 슬라이딩센터 건설, 전국동계체육대회 종목 포함, 한국체육대학교 썰매부 창단 등에도 영향을 미치게 되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The present study was conducted to examine how hosting of 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics affected the advancement of the skeleton and bobsleigh events. For this, in addition to analyzing literature related to skeleton and bobsleigh, the study selected total 6 persons who can make objective statements on the advancement process of the events from the player group, trainer group, administrator group, and expert group, and the contents of the interviews with these people were used for the data analysis.
The effects of hosting 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics on the skeleton and bobsleigh events confirmed through the research are as follows: First, a corporate-sponsored skeleton team and bobsleigh team were founded respectively as an effort to attract the Winter Olympics and an increase in the number of corporate-sponsored team players and national team players were achieved, This resolved the difficulty stemmed from the scarcity of players and therefore had a positive effect on advancement in the athletic performance. Second, a training facility specializing in track start was constructed prior to the construction of stadiums in order to draw attention on training facilities before the examination on the winter olympic venue carried out by the IOC survey team. This improved the start ability of players and facilitated the scientification of selecting players. Third, the amount and quality of training fundamentally changed by scouting professional foreign directors as the amount of national aid and sponsors increased as the amount of national aid, and sponsors increased, as a result of hosting the winter olympics. In addition, the winter olympics affected the construction of skeleton and bobsleigh stadiums, inclusion of these events in National Winter Sports Festivals, and the foundation of a sleigh team in Korea National Sports University, and so on.
