아카데믹 기술창업을 어떻게 촉진시킬 것인가? : 아카데믹 연구자들의 창업태도 변화를 중심으로

Entrepreneurship has played an important role in generating new jobs and getting sustainable economic growth in most economies, In recent, scholars and policy-makers have focused their interests on the role of the universities and public research institutes in the entrepreneurship because of their increased role in creating new scientific and technological knowledge in the knowledge-based economy, Korea government has continued to develop and implement a variety set of public policies and programs in order to encourage the technology entrepreneurship in the universities and public research institutes, but their effectiveness is still doubtful, Under this situation, this paper aimed at finding the factors inducing the entrepreneurial attitude change of academic scientists and engineers who have been working for the universities or public research institutes based on an autonomous and unique survey of academic scientists and engineers, We also aimed at finding solutions how to encourage the academic entrepreneurships by revisiting the generally adopted policy approaches, Our results show that there is the gender difference in the entrepreneurial attitude change of the academic scientists and engineers by the entrepreneurship supporting programs, We also find that both the funding at early stage of startups and the supporting in-depth information on markets related to the technology to be commercialized is positively related to the their entrepreneurial attitude change by the supporting programs of the entrepreneurship, We also find that academic scientists and engineers can be discouraged by the approach supporting the management of finance and HR unlike the policy-makers’ expectation, We expect this paper to be an important foundation to follow-up researches regarding academic technology entrepreneurship and to develop the more sophisticated policies and/or programs supporting academic technology entrepreneurship.
