In this paper we proposed the PTZ camera system that detects and track the moving object by embedded solution. Once the appropriate object is detected, the system tracks it in realtime according to its motion. Instead of focus calibration, the direct control method is proposed that uses relationship between image center and targets"s direction, distance and velocity. We have implemented the realtime detecting and tracking system using the TI DM6446 Davinci processor. By experiment, we verified the stable and high performance even in fast moving vehicles.
