Information era requires students to possess information literacy which enables them to recognize, collect, organize, maintain, share the necessary information and finally utilize them effectively when solving a encountered specific problems. The purpose of this study, therefore, was to verify how effectively problem-based learning with Internet would perform for the information literacy and retention of learning contents by achievement levels. For this purpose, I adopted an instructional model of problem-based learning with internet, which was based on constructivism in an actual class of elementary social study and compared with a traditional teaching method and analyzed the effects. The results show that a method of problem-based learning with Internet is more effective in terms of improving information literacy and retention than a traditional instruction-learning method.
