환경교육사 교재의 「환경과 철학」 단원 구성 개선을 위한 분석 및 제언 = 「Environment and Philosophy」 Unit in Environmental Education Instructor Textbook

국문 초록 (Abstract)

오늘날 심각한 환경 문제에 대한 대응으로, 국가에서는 환경교육사라는 자격 제도를 운영하고 있다. 환경교육사는 환경교육에 대한 프로그램의 기획, 진행, 분석, 평가는 물론 환경교육을 직접적으로 수행하는 업무까지 담당한다. 본 연구에서는 환경교육사 자격 가운데 3급의 교과 교재에 나타난 ‘환경과 철학’ 단원을 분석하고, 보다 나은 구성을 위한 제안을 하고자 하였다. ‘환경과 철학’의 첫 번째 세부 단원은 인간 중심적 환경철학과 생태 중심적 환경철학이라는 다소 극단적인 이분법을 기준으로 구성되어 있다는 문제점을 지닌다. 두 번째 세부 단원은 생명이라는 중요한 개념어를 인간, 동물, 식물, 지구 생명체 전반에 느슨하게 사용하는 논쟁적인 구성 방법을 취하고 있다. 이러한 두 가지 문제점을 보완하기 위해서 도덕과 교육과정과의 비교를 통하여 환경철학의 이론과 쟁점 중심의 새로운 단원 구성을 모색할 필요가 있다.

Today, in response to serious environmental problems, the state operates a qualification system called environmental education instructor. Environmental education instructors are in charge of planning, progressing, analyzing, and evaluating programs on environmental education as well as directly performing environmental education. In this study, among the qualifications of environmental education instructor, the ‘environment and philosophy’ unit shown in the level 3 textbook was analyzed, and suggestions were made for better composition. There is a problem that the first detailed unit of ‘environment and philosophy’ is composed based on the extreme dichotomy of anthropocentrism and ecocentrism. The second detailed unit takes on a controversial composition that loosely uses the concept of life across humans, animals, plants, and Earth. To compensate for these two problems, it is necessary to seek a new unit composition centered on the theory of environmental philosophy and issues through comparison with moral education curriculum.
