한국 영화교육의 역사적 궤적 = A Historical Trajectory of Film Education in South Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국 영화교육의 궤적을 통해 1924년 조선배우학교에서부터 현재까지 다양한 층위의 영화교육을 살펴보고 있다. 초기 영화배우를 위한 기초 영화이론부터 시작해서 본격적으로 전문적인 영화인 양성을 위해 조선영화예술협회와 조선문예영화협회가 설립되었다. 이렇게 도제식으로 이루어지던 영화교육을 정규 교육과정은 서라벌예술학교부터 시작되었다. 본 연구는 한국 영화교육을 제도권 교육과 비제도권 구분하고 이 기준점을 1953년 서라벌예대의 설립으로 규정하고 있다. 이를 다시 네 단계, 즉 태동기, 도약기, 성장기, 발전기로 구분해서 한국 영화교육을 살펴보았다. 그리고 최근 영화교육의 경향은 일반 대중을 위한 소양교육으로서의 모습으로 진화하고 있다. 이것은 대학의 교양과목에서 영화교육의 확대와 초·중등학교에서의 영화교육의 진출로 확인할 수 있다.

This study explores the historical trajectory of film education in South Korea from Joseon Actors` School in 1924 to the present which shows various layers of film education. Even though film education centered on ``Introduction to Film Studies` for actors and actresses in the early stage, at last, it could be taught about both filmmaking and theories since the establishment of Association of Joseon Film Art and Association of Joseon Literary Film. In addition, Sorabol Art College started to present film education at college level in 1953. In light of period, this paper classifies the film education in South Korea as four phases: infancy, the take-off, growth, development. Finally, it is a very meaningful progress for film education to expand its territory to primary and secondary schools.
