The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between career maturity, employability, and job stress in order to verify the major variables affecting career preparation behavior that are practically required for college students to enter the professional world from school. In order to achieve the research objectives, questionnaire data were collected for 3rd and 4th graders taking career-related liberal arts elective courses among students enrolled in a four-year university in Seoul. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 24.0 program using the intermediary model of Process Macro's Model 4. Career maturity was analyzed by inputting career maturity in the independent variable, employability and job stress in the parameter, and career preparation behavior in the dependent variable, respectively. The results of the study were as follows. First, it was found that career maturity had a positive effect on career preparation behavior. Second, it was confirmed that employability partially mediated the relationship between career maturity and career preparation behavior. Third, it was found that job stress partially mediated the relationship between career maturity and career preparation behavior. As a result of confirming the double mediating effect of employability and job stress in the relationship between career maturity and career preparation behavior, it was confirmed that the positive double indirect effect had.
These findings demonstrate that career maturity, employment possibility, and job stress variables were major variables that reinforced the career preparation behavior necessary for college students to enter the professional world from school. Based on these research results, suggestions were made on ways to strengthen college students' career maturity and employment possibilities.
