The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of college soccer players’ perceived ethical leadership and sport engagement on organizational effectiveness and innovative behavior. An online survey was conducted with 220 college soccer players registered in the Korea Football Association in 2024, and 213 valid responses were used for the final analysis after excluding seven insincere responses. Scales measuring perceived ethical leadership, sport engagement, organizational effectiveness, and innovative behavior were utilized, and their validity and internal consistency were verified through exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis. Descriptive statistics were performed to examine demographic characteristics, correlation analysis was conducted to investigate the relationships among variables, and hierarchical regression analysis was employed to determine the effects of perceived ethical leadership and sport engagement on organizational effectiveness and innovative behavior. The results showed that, first, perceived ethical leadership and sport engagement had significant positive correlations with the sub-factors of organizational effectiveness and innovative behavior. Second, the normative behavior factor of perceived ethical leadership and the vigor and dedication factors of sport engagement had positive effects on organizational effectiveness. Third, the communication–reinforcement/fair decision factor of perceived ethical leadership and the vigor and dedication factors of sport engagement had, respectively, negative and positive effects on innovative behavior. Based on these results, discussions were provided in consideration of the ecological characteristics of the college soccer field, and it was emphasized that coaches’ ethical leadership—particularly normative behavior—along with players’ high levels of vigor and dedication, were important factors in enhancing organizational performance and innovative behavior.
