남북한 대화에서 남북한의 상호인식 변화 -노태우 정부 시기 남북고위급회담을 중심으로 = The Change of Mutual Cognition in the Inter-Korean Dialogue -Focusing on the South-North Korean High-Level Talks in the Roh Tae-Woo Government`s Era

The dialogue is the only peaceful method to defuse the tension between Inter-Koreas. There is no clue to solve The North-Korean nuclear issue and the various pending problems now. Paradoxically, the dialogue between Inter-Koreas becomes more important in these contexts. Accordingly, we need to look back upon the historical experiences which the South and the North Korea had directly met and defused the tensions in the Korean Peninsula by themselves. This paper is concerned with eight rounds of the South-North high-level talks in Roh Tae-Woo Government`s Era. The South-North high-ranking talks is a ‘contact zone’ which both of the diplomatic elites, who represent each of their systems, compete or talk and compromise each other in order to show off the legitimacy of their own system. These Talks reached the ‘Inter-Korean Basic Agreement’ and ‘the Inter-Korean denuclearization pact’, but failed to implement them. Two Koreas`s desires and cognitions for each other changed in the process - The first talks, the difficulty and the breakdown, settlement execution. This paper gives a thick descriptions for mutual cognition, and researches lessons for the current Inter-Korea talks.
