This study shows "the consciousness of the old home" that we think it the most important distinction of Lee Ho-Cheol's Literature. Because his subject is so much important in prescribing the original form of creating way and view of the world of Lee Ho-Cheol's Literature. The Korean War in 1950 had made a lot of change to the society and every indivisual of Korea. Refugees from North Korea had experienced the shock of war more seriously than any other person.
We're sure that all the people came down to South Korea with lost everything felt so much troubles of life than any other at that time and they were absolutely frustrated since they could not be back to their old home although the Korean War was over.
The very point of Lee Ho - Cheol's Literature is showing the way they were. 「Talhwyang」is telling the story all about the uneasy psychology of the four young guys in a strange refuge place. It also shows an aspect of new start to an unfamiliar place. 「New start」here in the story means rebuilding the foundation of life after adapting to the way of South Korea.
Each of four young guys in 「Talhwang」 made different choice of an aspect of start, but we can guess the course of "Get settling" of a crowd of people lost their whole old home.
「Talgak」shows the process of "Get settling" itself is. We looked into that "the consciousness of the old home" of Lee Ho-Cheol's refers to the origin floating through the whole his literature by the analysis of work like this.
