大山思想의 獨創性과 世界化의 追究 = A study on the originalities of Daesan Yong ho shin’s thoughts and enhancing globalization

The aims of this study are to examine on the economic and management thought of Yong Ho Shin and also analyze on the formation process of his thoughts in order to find-out his originalities. As a matter of fact, this paper want to try build-up his thoughts as an “ism” and enhancing globalization.
Daesan Young Ho Shin(The honorific name “Daesan means Great Mountain) was born on August 11, 1917 in Chullanam-do of south-west part of Korea.
His father, whose name was Sung-Un Shin, was a scholar of Chinese classics and a patriot, and his mother, Mrs Yoo, was a woman of culture and piety whose humanitarian was very deep. And also his eldest and elder brothers were the fighter of national independence during Japanese ruling-period.
Daesan found The Kyobo Life Insurance Co. Ltd., on August 8, 1958 with promoting Education in Korea and Building-up the National Capital Base as its Founding Principles. Kyobo Life’s founder, Yong-Ho Shin developed for the first time in the world “Education Insurance Policy” and has contributed to the domestic insurance industry as well as the growth of the national economy through his extraordinary management strategies.
With the establishment of The Kyobo Book Centre Co. Ltd., in 1980, Daesan Foundation for Rural Culture and Society in 1991, The Daesan Foundation in 1992, and The Kyobo Foundation for Education and Culture in 1997, he fulfilled the corporation’s social responsibilities.
In recognition of his meritorious services, Founder Shin received the Founder’s Award and was selected laureate of the Insurance Hall of Fame by the International Insurance Society(IIS) as well as being named the insurance Mentor and a distinguished Honoray University of professor by the University of Alabamer, in U.S.A.
Furthermore, in January 2000, in recognition of his contribution to improve the country’s productivity in the life insurance industry, Yong-Ho Shin received the APO National Award from the Asian Productivity Organization for the first for the financial industry In Asia-Pacific.
After studding, I can be gained a few results as following : Daesan’s originalities are greatly owing to his three Goodness Thoughts and three Benefitness Thoughts, that is, three Goodness Thoughts mean ① utmost good faith service philosophy, ② good careness and management of customer’s life and fortune, ③ good education for all of human beings, and also three Benefitness Service philosophy mean the national interest thought, ④ increasing customer’s most benefit service, ⑤ company’s benefit thought.
Main spring of shin’s originalities are the strategy of difference, that is, a strategy of difference of a firm and that of insurance service. For the first time in the world, Shin has developed Education Policy. And his most important originalities is a “Learning though working, working though learning” by his life philosophical basement.
Lastly, Daesan’s entrepreneurship is not a patriotic businessman, but only is the golbalizative entrepreneurship, specially his thought and activities have been harmonizing a difficult problem related. to the economic development and economic ethic’s trade-off-relation. And he is a pioneer of globalization which is now our economic goals as he is completely accomplished globalization at this time.
Thus it is an obvious that Daesan’s originalities could be established as an “ISM” and it could be contained a possibility of globalization.
