As the maintaining the quality of life of the elderly inpatients is important, the
objetive of this study was to propose the basic data for improvement of the quality of
life in the elderly inpatients.
The subjects were a total of 41 elderly inpatients, age 65 or older in Gyeonggi do.
This data collectd from April 1 to May 13, 2003 and questionnaires were used for
interviewing them. The data was analyzed using PC SPSS for the frequency, percentage,
mean, standard deviation, Cronbach'sAlpha, x²-test, Pearson correlation coefficient,
ANOVA and t-test.
The results are as follows ;
l. As to the evaluation of health age, 33.9% of the elderly inpatients in this study fell
between -9 and 0, a positive evaluation of health management in terms of health age,
while 66.1% were evaluated negative, from 0 to +9. Because subjects have diseasesand
higher age.
2. As for the correlation between quality of life and health age, health age is
correlated with social health condition (p<.01) and physical condition. (p<.05).
3.According to the analytic result of factors affecting quality of life, it affects exercise
andsleeping status (p<.05).
