    Music education punctuates to satisfy humans life as higher quality because it makes experiences of maximized prospects of human eye and creative expression ability. It can be developed as a life education through various kinds of music activities at any where and at any time raising desirable standard.
    The contents of music education in school include songs, instruments, compositions, appreciation area. Based on those areas, they can be divided by three categories which are composition, performance and appreciation. Especially appreciation part has great roll of raising understanding ability intelligently through the live of music.
    Thus the main purpose of this study is to be referred for new school textbook edition in the future as this study involves analysis of music appreciation for music textbook through 9 kinds of music by the 6th text book edition procedure. It also means to contribute to build plans of teaching efficient education in reality.
    The range of this study limits and focused on 9 kinds of appreciation pieces in high school music textbook by which they have been processed though 6th education procedure. The methodology used for this study is researching the music, changes of education process, and significance of appreciation education though using literature study in which modern education seeks music education comment.
    This study also tried to analyze western appreciation pieces by geographical, chronological, and performance forms order to find out specific gravity of appreciation pieces as well as comparing contents of geographical order in current text book. For the traditional music, this study treats it as distribution through performance forms order and genre order. Music education may be defined as life education. In terms of purpose of music education and its value, it contributes to give out and make people learn the characteristics if music and recognize music education; hence another significance of gravity comparison between domestic and foreign music, folk song and lied, chorus and ensemble might occur students re-taste consideration of music education, and we might want to reexamine current high school music study process based on those interests.
