2022 개정 음악과 교육과정에 따른 처용무의 지도 방향 = Teaching Direction of Cheoyongmu according to the2022 Revised Music Curriculum

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 2015 개정 및 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정에 따른 중학교 음악교과서의 처용무 수록 양상 및 지도 내용을 분석하여 문제점을 살펴보고, 지도 방향을 모색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다.
중학교 음악교과서에 수록된 처용무의 수록 양상 및 지도 내용을 분석한 결과, 대부분 음악 국가유산과 관련하여 수록되어 있다. 처용무의 명칭과 음악 국가유산으로 지정된 연도만 제시하여 처용무에 대한 구체적인 내용을 파악할 수 없는 문제점이 나타났다. 이러한 문제점에 따라 본 연구에서는 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정에 근거하여 처용무 감상의 지도 방향을 역사적인 맥락, 사회ㆍ문화적 맥락 측면에서 제안하였다.
첫째, 역사적 맥락 측면의 지도 내용은 ‘처용랑 망해사’ 조에 수록된 설화와 관련하여 처용무의 유래를 파악하고, 신라에서 현재에 이르기까지의 시대적 변천을 이해하는 내용을 중심으로 구성하였다. 둘째, 사회ㆍ문화적 맥락 측면의 지도 내용은 시대의 변화 속에서 벽사, 나례 의식, 정재, 무대공연 등으로 춤이 갖는 기능이 변화하는 양상을 바탕으로 처용무의 역할을 이해하고, 음양오행의 오색과 오방과 관련하여 처용무에 내재한 사상을 이해할 수 있게 구성하였다. 더불어 역사성과 지속적인 전승 및 뛰어난 예술성과 민족의 정체성이 함축된 춤으로서 처용무의 문화적 가치를 이해할 수 있도록 지도 내용을 제시하였다.
처용무는 정재 중에서 가장 오랜 역사를 지니면서 변화를 거듭하며 끊임없이 연행되었고, 앞으로도 지속해서 공연이 이루어질 수 있는 춤이다. 따라서 시대에 따른 처용무의 변천 과정과 그 역할 및 가치를 올바르게 이해할 수 있게 하는 교육적 접근이 필요하다.

This study aims to analyze the inclusion patterns and instructional content of Cheoyongmu in middle school music textbooks based on the 2015 and 2022 revised music curriculum, examine related issues, and explore instructional directions. The findings are as follows.
An analysis of the inclusion patterns and instructional content of Cheoyongmu in middle school music textbooks reveal that they are mostly included in relation with national cultural heritage. However, the textbooks only provide its name and the year it was designated as a musical national heritage, making it difficullt for students to grasp detailed information about the dance. To address these issues, this study proposes instructional directions for Cheoyongmu appreciation by focusing on historical and socio-cultural contexts based on the 2022 revised music curriculum.
First, from a historical context, the instructional content aims to help students understand the origins of Cheoyongmu in relation to the folk story of Cheoyong, which is recorded in the section "Cheoyong and Manghaesa Temple," and the transformation of Cheoyongmu from the Silla period to the present. Second, from a socio-cultural context, the instructional content focuses on the changing functions of dance over time, including Byeoksa (an exorcisitc ritual: 辟邪), Naryae (court purification ceremony: 儺禮) rituals, Jeongjae (royal court dance: 呈才), and stage performances. It also emphasizes an understanding of the philosophy embedded in Cheoyongmu, particularly its connection to the five colors and five directions in the Yin-Yang and Five Elements Theory. Additionally, the study suggests instructional approaches that allow students to appreciate the cultural value of Cheoyongmu as a dance that encapsulates historical significance, continous transmission, artistic excellence, and national identity.
Among the royal court dances (jeongjae), Cheoyongmu has the longest history and has undergone continuous adaptation while remaining actively performed. It is a dance that can continue to be performed in the future. Thus, it is crucial to establish an educational approach that accurately conveys the historical evolution, functional roles, and cultural significance of Cheoyongmu.
