도시 공간 속 노점상에서 드러난 비공식성과 공식성의 상호작용 : 서울특별시 강남구 측 강남대로의 노점상에 대한 사례연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대 도시사회는 비공식성으로 점철되어있고, 이러한 비공식성은 사회의 공식성과 상호작용하며 결과론 적으로는 두 영역 모두의 변화를 이끌어 내게 된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 도시비공식성의 이론을 서울특별시 강남 구 측 강남대로의 노점상에 적용하여 분석해보고자 한다. 특히 Kudva의 도시비공식성 이론과, Etzold의 방글라데 시 다카에서의 연구를 기반으로 하여, 도시 비공식성의 이론으로 노점상의 생성 및 유지를 살펴보고자 한다. 외환 위기 이후 급속하게 증가한 노점상은, 정부 및 지방자치단체로 대표되는 공식성과 많은 마찰을 일으키며, 그 갈등 의 정도는 점점 심화되고 있는것이 실정이다. 이러한 갈등은 특히 사례지역에서 잘 나타나며, 본 연구에서는 갈등 의 원인에 대하여, 그리고 공식성과 비공식성이 상호작용하는 모습이 현실세계에서 구현되는 양상에 대하여 분석 해 보고자 한다. 또한, 강남구청과, 서초구청으로 대표되는 서울시청이 노점상을 대하는 상이한 노선에 대해서 논 의해보고, 비공식성과 공식성의 다양한 상호작용이 어떠한 결과를 가져오는지 알아보고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Prevalence of Urban Informality is one of the key characteristics of today’s society. And the transaction between the urban informality and the formality ultimately results in the changes in both formality and informality. This study will apply the concept of Urban Informality to the Street Vendors in Gangnam-daero in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Based on the concept of urban informality by Kudva, and the research of Bangladesh by Etzold, we will see how street vendors are formed and developed in the lens of urban informality. Street vendors increased in numbers since the Asian Economic Crisis in 1997, and the conflicts between these vendors and the government are increasing as the time passes. This conflict is especially prevalent in the research area (Gangnam-daero), and we will analyze the reason for this conflict, as well as how the transactions between formality and informality is realized in the conflict. Also, this study will focus on the different reactions by Gangnam-gu and Seoul city (Seocho-gu), and how the diverse interaction between formaily and informality results in different situations.
