자하하디드(Zaha Hadid) 작품에 나타나는 은유적 표현에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Metaphorical Expression in the Works of Zaha Hadid

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In every era, architecture has contained various elements such as representative symbolism and culture of each period. It showed the characteristics and elements of the period by giving the architecture symbolism, and showed the appearance of the period through architecture in later generations. But the architecture of today focuses on the functional parts of architecture rather than the meaning, ideas, and symbolism of the present time. That is why the architecture of modern society is nothing but a hard and cold function. Therefore, we are going to apply metaphorical expressions to the architecture of the present era to contain messages of the present era. This study was conducted to demonstrate the potential of Terrence Hawkes's book, 'Metaphors'. Through the effects of metaphor, we want to create a new link in the modern buildings that contains the symbols, characteristics, and sensibility of the present era and connect the present era to the next.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

매 시대마다 건축은 각 시대의 대표적인 상징이나 문화 등 다양한 요소들을 담아왔다. 건축에 상징성을 부여함으로서 그 시대의 특징이나 여러 요소들을 보여주고 담아오며 후대에 건축물을 통하여 그 시대의 모습들을 보여줬다. 하지만 현 시대의 건축은 현재 시대가 가지고 있는 의미나 사상, 상징성보다는 건축의 기능적인 부분에 중점을 두고 있다. 그렇기에 현대 사회의 건축의 모습은 딱딱하고 차가운 기능만을 담은 모습뿐이다. 이에 현시대의 건축물에 은유적 표현을 적용하여 현시대가 가지고 있는 메시지를 담아보고자 한다. 본 연구는 테렌스 혹스(Terence Hawkes)의 저서 ’Metaphor'에서 말하는 은유의 6가지 특징을 분석하여 건축물에 적용하였을 때 나타나는 은유 효과를 도출하고 이 효과들을 자하 하디드의 작품을 통하여 은유의 적용 효과와 가능성을 증명하고자 한다. 은유의 효과들을 통하여 현 시대의 건물들에 현시대가 가지는 상징성과 특징, 감성을 담아내고 현시대를 다음 시대로 연결시켜주는 새로운 연결고리를 만들어 보고자 한다.
