부양책임이 부양부담과 향후 부양의지에 미치는 영향-심신기능손상 노인의 부양가족을 중심으로- = An impact of family caregivers' filial obligation on caregiving burden and future care willingness for the frail elderly

This study investigates the impact of family caregivers' filial obligation on caregiving burden and future care willingness for the frail elderly. For the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted with 214 daughters-in-law who are providing care for their frail elderly over 65 year - old who reside in Daegu, Busan, Kyongpook and Kyongnam province. The result of the study indicated that caregiving tasks, the level of relationship between the elderly and caregiver, filial obligation of caregiver, and financial status showed statistically significant in explaining the variance of caregiving burden after controlling the age of the caragivers and length of the caregiving. In addition, filial obligation, the level of relationship, caregiving tasks, and caregiving burden were significant variables in explaining variance of caregivers' future care willingness, while financial status was not statistically significant after controlling age and length of the caregiving. Finally, a path analysis was used to test research model by utilizing multiple regression and correlation. The results showed that caregiving tasks, the relationships, and filial obligation were statistically significant factors in explaining caregivers' future care willingness directly and indirectly through caregiving burden. After all, filial obligation was the most important predictors in explaining caregivers' level of future care willingness. Based on the findings of the study, implications for the family caregivers' services and recommendations of further study were provided.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 심신기능의 손상으로 인해 독립적인 생활이 불가능한 노부모를 부양하는 가족부양자를 대상으로 부양책임과 부양관련 요인들이 부양부담에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 이들 변인이 부양자의 계속적인 부양의지에 미치는 직 간접적 영향을 분석하기위해 실시되었다. 연구목적을 위해, 대구 경북지역과 부산 경남지역에 거주하는 노부모를 모시는 가구의 여성 214명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, SPSS 12 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 부양부담과 유의한 관련성을 가진 부양자의 연령과 부양기간을 통제한 후 분석한 결과, 노인부양에 따른 부양과업, 노인과 부양자와의 관계 및 부양자가 인식하는 부양에 대한 책임, 그리고 경제적 수준이 부양부담에 영향을 미치는 유의한 변인으로 확인되었다. 또한, 부양자의 노인에 대한 계속적인 부양의지에 영향을 미치는 변인으로 부양책임과 부양부담, 노인과의 관계 그리고 부양과업이 유의한 것으로 확인되었으나, 경제적 수준은 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 그 다음으로, 노인을 부양하고 있는 가족부양자의 계속적인 부양의지에 이르는 경로를 분석한 결과, 노인과의 부양관계와 부양과업, 부양책임은 부양자의 부양의지에 직접적 효과를 가질 뿐만 아니라, 부양부담을 매개로한 간접적 효과를 가지는 것으로 확인되었으며, 변인들 중 부양책임이 부양자의 부양의지에 상대적으로 가장 큰 효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구결과에 따른 실천적 함의와 제언이 논의되었으며, 가족부양자를 대상으로 하는 후속연구에 관한 방안을 제시하였다.
