비평적 탐구: 비교문화적 맥락에서 미술비평과 감상교육

다문화 시대에 비교문화적 맥락에서 비평적 탐구 방법은 서양 중심의 미술비평과 감상교육의 이론과 교수 학습 방법의 틀을 넘어서 동양 문화에서 학습자가 타문화를 통해서 자신의 문화를 이해할 수 있는 미술비평 및 감상교육 방법이다. 본 연구는 첫째, 미술교육에서 미술비평 및 감상교육의 현황을 검토한다. 둘째, 미술비평 방법론이 다양하게 연구된 서양에서 타문화 이해를 위한 미술비평 방법론을 논의한다. 셋째, 한국에서 비교문화 관점에서 미술비평 교수 학습에 관해 논의한다. ‘지금,’ ‘여기’에서 서양과 한국의 미술을 이해 할 수 있는 미술비평 및 감상교육의 교수 학습 방법에 따라 학생들의 비평적 사고력 향상에 관해 실제 미술교육 현장에서 측정한다. 비교문화적 미술 비평의 탐구는 서양 중심의 사고에서 벗어나 다문화(multicultural) 사회 속에서 다양한 문화에 대한 이해를 증진시킬 뿐만 아니라 서양미술과 문화에 대한 보다 폭 넒은 이해를 가능하게 해 준다.

Critical Inquiry: Art Criticism and Appreciation in the Context of Cross-Cultural Art Education

Research on art criticism and appreciation has been conducted and applied in the filed of art education in Western countries, has been applied to the field of art education. However, in Korea, studies on art criticism and appreciation have been discussed as a separate research area, not within the practical field of art education. In the process of reforming Korea's national curriculum, the national curriculum includes a focus on art criticism and appreciation with the recognition of appropriate means searching visual language and expressive capacity. Educational art criticism has been at the forefront of theoretical and practical concerns in the field of art education in its reconsideration of the limitation of studio-based art education and enlargement of the field of art education to include content-based approaches to art education such as art history, art criticism, and aesthetics. This study examines the models and methodologies of art criticism and appreciation in the non-Western culture. Critical inquiry is emphasized as the significant process of art criticism and appreciation in art education. Additionally, this study investigates the model of cross-cultural art criticism practiced in the art classes of middle school, since cross-cultural understanding of artworks provide students with a better understanding of both their own and others' cultures.
