남자 예비유아교사로서의 어려움과 교사양성기관의 지원방안 탐색 = Exploring Male Preservice Teachers' Difficulties and the Effective Ways of Support for Male Preservice Teachers in Early Childhood Teacher Education Program

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate male preservice teachers' perceived difficulties in early childhood teacher education programs and the effective ways to support for male preservice teachers in teacher education programs. In order to conduct this qualitative research, 6 male preservice teachers in 3-year and 4-year teacher education programs participated in doing group interviews and writing case journals based on their experiences in their programs. The results of the study indicated that male preservice teachers had difficulties in adjusting themselves in teacher education programs, working on the required assignments, and deciding on their career. The results also showed that male preservice teachers suggested the effective ways in which teacher education programs could help male preservice teachers solve the problems in terms of their adjustment, learning, and career development.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 유아교육을 전공하는 남자 예비유아교사들이 경험하는 어려움을 살펴보고, 이에 따른 유아교사양성기관의 지원방안을 모색하는데 있다. 이를 위해 4년제 유아교육과 남학생 3명, 3년제 유아교육과 남학생 3명, 총 6명을 연구대상으로 선정하였다, 자료수집 방법으로는 심층적인 집단면담 방법이 주로 사용되었으며, 이를 보완하기 위해 각각의 학생들에게 자유기고형식으로 저널을 받아 내용을 분석하였다.
연구결과, 남자 예비유아교사들은 학과적응, 학업, 진로에 따른 어려움과 고민을 경험하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이러한 어려움을 돕기 위해 학과적응을 위해서는 형평성 있는 대우와 멘토링, 학업을 위해서는 조 구성 방식의 개선 및 과제에 대한 구체적 지도, 진로를 위해서는 진로상담 및 지속적인 남학생 모임구성 등을 교사양성기관차원에서의 지원방안으로 제안하였다.
