언어정화(말다듬기) 정책의 논리 구축 과정에서 북한 지도이념과 어문민족주의의 상호작용 양상 = Interaction between North Korean leadership ideology and linguistic nationalism in the process of establishing the logic of language purification policy

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고에서는 북한 지도이념과 어문민족주의의 상호작용이라는 차원에서 북한의 언어정책을 분석하고, 이를 근거로 언어정화 정책의 논리가 구축되고 변화하게 된 맥락을 구체화하였다. 이 논의는 다음 두 방향으로 이루어졌다.
첫째, 북한에서 이루어진 관련 논의를 분석하여 국제적 공통성과 민족적 특수성의 융합 논리가 변동하는 양상을 포착하고, 이를 근거로 북한 지도이념(마르크스-레닌주의 및 주체사상)과 어문민족주의의 상호작용 양상을 설명하였다. 이를 통해 마르크스-레닌주의가 북한의 지도이념으로 확고하던 시기에는 국제적 공통성을 중시하는 융합 논리가, 주체사상을 북한의 지도이념으로 정립해나가는 시기에는 민족적 특수성을 중시하는 융합 논리가 부각되었음을 밝혔다.
둘째, 주체사상화 과정에서 제기된 혁명적 문풍 확립의 논리가 변화하는 양상을 포착하고, 이를 근거로 주체사상과 어문민족주의의 상호작용 양상을 설명하였다. 이를 통해 1960년대 중반부터 시작된 문화어 수립 정책이 민족어 정체성 수호를 위한 말다듬기 정책을 강화하는 계기가 되었고, 1970년대 후반부터 본격화한 전 사회의 주체사상화를 위한 혁명 전통 교육 강화가 말다듬기를 반성적으로 재검토하게 된 계기가 되었음을 밝혔다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this paper, North Korea's language policy was analyzed in terms of the interaction between North Korea's leadership ideology and linguistic nationalism, and based on this, the context in which the logic of the language purification policy was established and changed was embodied. The discussion took place in the following two directions.
First, the interaction between the North Korean leadership ideology (Marx-Leninism and Juche ideology) and the language nationalism was explained based on the analysis of relevant discussions in North Korea. Through this, it was revealed that the convergence logic emphasizing international commonality emerged during the period when Marx-Leninism was firmly established as North Korea's leadership ideology, and the convergence logic emphasizing national specificity emerged during the period when the Juche ideology was established as North Korea's leadership ideology.
Second, the changing patterns of the logic of establishing a revolutionary literary style raised in the process of Juche ideology were captured, and based on this, the interaction patterns between Juche ideology and linguistic nationalism were explained. Through this, it was revealed that the policy of establishing cultural language, which began in the mid-1960s, served as an opportunity to strengthen the policy of language purification to protect the identity of the national language, and that the reinforcement of traditional revolutionary education for juche ideology in the whole society, which began in earnest in the late 1970s, led to a reflective review of language purification.
