미래로의 도약, 3ㆍ1 운동 속 직접성의 형식 = Leap to the Future－Three Levels of the Immediate in the March 1st Movement－

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

March 1st Movement of 1919 was a part of the global utopian moment. In Korea, the story of the March 1st Movement has been narrated primarily in terms of the expression of national spirit, so other aspects still await further research and investigation. I suggest a concept of the immediate to shade a light to other aspects of the movement: the immediate at the levels of time, language, and subject. The Movement spread out in the belief that Korea already gained its independence, or it was to be gained through manifesto/ declaration, and a subject of declaration could be formed through self-determination. The speech act of declaration/ manifesto, as materialized in leaflets and newspapers, had the power to transform the world. Crystalized present and yet coming future were embraced at the same time through such an act, and people who volunteered or were delegated by various ideological-practical groups named themselves ‘representatives’ while negating a positive power of colonial governance. Those levels of the immediate that denies the power of old establishments, resonating in the unmodern circumstances of Korea, corresponded to the global transformation after World WarⅠ.
