‘지적(地籍)’이란 용어의 사용연혁에 관한 연구 - 조선시대를 중심으로 - = A Study on the History of the Term “Cadastre” - Focused on Choson Dynasty Period -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 조선시대에 발간된 고도서와 고문서를 비롯하여 고전국역총서 등을 조사⋅분석하여 ‘지적(地籍)’이란 용어를 ‘언제, 어디서, 누가, 어떤 의미로?’ 처음 사용하였는가를 밝히고 그동안의 사용 연혁을 제시하는 데 있다.
연구목적을 효율적으로 달성하기 위하여 국립중앙도서관, 국회도서관, 서울대학교 규장각, 국사편찬위원회, 한국학중앙연구원, 한국고전번역원 등에 소장되어 있는 조선왕조실록, 하곡집, 일성록, 경국대전, 승정원일기 등 고도서와 고문서, 고전국역총서 등을 인터넷조사법과 문헌조사법, 면담조사법 등을 활용하여 조사⋅분석하였다.
연구결과 ‘지적(地籍)’이란 용어는 1700년대 초에 정제두가 오늘날의 토지대장을 의미하는 양안(量案)을 관리하는 관직의 명칭으로 처음 사용하였던 것으로 국립중앙도서관에 보존되어 있는 하곡집((霞谷集)에 의하여 확인되었다.
앞으로 새로운 고문헌이 발굴되고 후학들이 계속하여 연구를 한다면 본 연구에서 제시된 지적이란 용어의 사용 연혁을 다시 번복할 수도 있을 것으로 생각한다.
그리고 연구범위를 일본과 중국으로 확대한다면 지적(地籍)이란 용어의 사용 연혁이 더욱 고대로 거슬러 올라갈 수 있을 것으로 기대하며, 대학과 연구기관 차원에서 이에 관한 연구를 적극 추진할 것을 제안한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to investigate Translation Series of Classics in Korean including traditional books and archival documents published during Choson Dynasty period, reveal when and where the term "cadastre" was used by whom at first, and what it meant, and suggest its history.
Following volumes were analyzed using internet, literature, and interview survey to accomplish this purpose effectively; Translation Series of Classics in Korean, traditional books, and archival documents including Annals of Choson Dynasty, Hagok-jip, Ilseong-rok, Kyongguk Taejon, and the Diaries of the Royal Secretariat of Choson Dynasty owned by The National Library of Korea, National Assembly Library, Seoul National University Kyujanggak Institute, National History Compilation Committee, The Academy of Korean Studies, and Institute for the Translation of Korean Classics.
The results showed that the term "cadastre" was first used as a title of the government post who managed Ryang-Ahn, which is a land-book of the present time, by Jung Je Doo in the early 1700s. It was confirmed in
Hagok-jip preserved in The National Library of Korea.
In the future, if younger scholars continue to find and research new archival documents, the suggested history about the cadastre in this study will be able to change.
Finally, it is expected that the scope of the research will be expanded to Japan and China to trace back to older times. It is suggested that a related university and research institute should promote it actively.
