디자인활용을 위한 한국인과 미국인의 기본 인체치수 비교 연구

Ergonomic design standards are needed for good products to make more comfortable and fitness for domestic and abroad users.So user`s physical character, age, gender, means of work should be presented to develop proper design. However, this kind of ergonomic data is fairly out of date and still very little data is available with correlation of product. In this study, we have analyzed and compared anthropometry difference in two race from previous Korean and American anthropometry data. For this, we have selected basic anthropometric dimensions which need to design product, automobile, office chair, living space and working area, as well as compare difference in two race by using a checklist. As a result of this study, we have found American is higher than Korean in elbow height. This data will be used to decide the standards of height for kitchen sink, lavatory and working table. American is also higher than Korean in popliteal height, this data will be used to decide the standards of height for chair and automobile seat. Also, other detail data of analysis were suggested in the thesis. In conclusion, this kind of data will be very important in the database because it provides design standards to fit user`s body types for various export goods.
