    'Social welfare' and 'Social security' concept were dealt with for investigating the systematic appropriateness of the Korean Social Security Fundamental Law. Two methods, existential legal & theoretical one, were used.
    The meaning of 'social security' used in the current the Korean Social Security Fundamental Law is the largest one. But the meaning of concerned welfare scheme written in that Law is very ambiguous. Therefore, 'social security' concept used in the current the Korean Social Security Fundamental Law has a greate discrepancy in the legal systematization.
    The necessity of renaming the Korean Social Security Fundamental Law is needed for solving the problems discussed above. It would be better to use the title as one of the alternatives, the Korean Social Welfare Fundamental Law instead of the Korean Social Security Fundamental Law.
