사이버 공간에서 소통이 갖는 교육적 의미

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 디지털 시대의 사이버 공간에서 소통이 갖는 교육적 의미를 탐구하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 하였다. 이러한 연구 목적을 위하여 연구자는 다음과 같은 내용을 연구하였다.
첫째, 사이버 공간에 대한 연구 논의가 컴퓨터 관련 분야뿐 아니라 심리학, 사회학, 경영학, 미술, 디자인 등의 분야에서 매우 다양하게 진행되고 있다. 그러나 교육학 분야에서는 주로 매체활용의 공학적인 부분에 한정되어 관심이 집중되었을 뿐 매체인식, 사이버 공간, 소통의 의미와 기능, 특징, 문제점 등을 교육의 구조나 본질, 교사와 학생, 현장교육의 실태와 관련하여 해석하려는 노력은 부족했던 것이 사실이다. 따라서 이와 관련된 주제어가 있는 선행 연구들을 고찰하여, 인식관심을 교육의 장으로 끌어들여 논의하고자 하였다.
둘째, 디지털 매체는 인간의 삶에 많은 영향을 끼치고 있으며, 오늘날 디지털 기술의 등장과 그 눈부신 발전 속도는 산업구조에서부터 우리의 일상생활에 이르기까지 여러 분야에 가히 혁명적인 변화의 움직임을 가져다주었다는 것을 고찰하였다. 이러한 패러다임의 전환기에 지식관의 변화를 살펴보고, 디지털 혁명의 의미와 특징에 대해 고찰하였다. 또한 커뮤니케이션 양식의 변화에 대한 새로운 인식과 디지털 시대의 새로운 인간형에 대해 논의하였다.
셋째, 교육 패러다임의 변화는 궁극적으로 환경의 변화 속에서 새로운 시대를 살아가기 위한 인간의 대처능력을 향상시키고, 미래지향적인 발전방향을 추구해 온 흔적으로 보았다. 이러한 인식을 바탕으로 교육에서의 미디어 인식의 변화와 미디어 리터러시 개념에 관해 고찰하였고, 사이버 문화의 등장과 디지털 시대의 학생관과 교사관에 대해 논의하였다.
넷째, 우리의 삶에서 인터넷을 떼어놓고 생각할 수 없는 사회적 환경에서, 교육을 바라보고 학습을 연구하는 데 있어서 가상의 온라인 공간을 들여다보는 것은 중요한 일이 되었다. 이에 디지털 공간에서 소통의 개념은 언어적인 차원을 넘어서 다차원적인 소통으로 확장되고 있는데, 이러한 새로운 소통의 주체와 정체성에 대해 논의하였다. 또한 사용자로 하여금 마치 가상세계 속에 실재하는 것과 같은 현장감을 제공함으로써 인간과 컴퓨터의 원활한 상호작용을 실현하고자 가상현실 속에서의 진정한 인간관계에 대해 논의하였다.
다섯째, 급격히 변화하는 디지털 정보화 사회에서 가장 중요한 것은 소통이다. 이러한 사이버상의 원활한 소통을 위해 사이버 공간의 특성이 익명성의 적극적인 활용, 다차원적 소통의 확장, 쌍방향적 상호작용의 효과, 개방적인 인간관계의 형성이라는 긍정적인 방향으로 활용을 극대화하여, 사이버 공간에서의 소통은 물론 현실공간에서의 삶에 더욱 긍정적인 작용을 할 수 있도록 교육적 논의를 하였다. 또한 사이버 공동체는 평생학습의 관점에서 사람을 길러내는 교육적 공간의 측면을 가지고 있다. 이와 함께 학교교육에 대한 문제점을 새로운 사회발전의 원동력으로 인식하고, 학생과 교사에 대한 올바른 이해를 통한 미래교육의 전망이 요구된다. 사이버 공간에서는 익명적 관계가 일반적이기 때문에 내용 중심의 교육이 가능하며, 전통적인 교사와 학생 간의 위계적인 관계에 변화를 요구하고 있다. 이처럼 사이버 공간은 분야나 대상에 따라서 교사와 학생의 위치가 바뀔 수 있는 개방적인 체제이며, 배우고자 하는 내용에 대해서도 학습자가 수준별로 요구할 수 있다는 점에서 학습자의 영역을 확장하는 공간이 되기도 한다.
이러한 맥락에서 중요한 점은 학생이 가상공동체의 구성원이 되는 것은 미래의 실재공동체의 구성원이 되는 준비를 하는 일이 되기 때문에 교육을 통해서 교사와 함께 건전한 참여를 양성하고 구성해 나가야 한다. 그러므로 디지털 전자매체가 학습자의 학습활동에 긍정적인 위력을 발휘하기 위해서는 교사를 비롯한 성인의 적극적인 관심과 지도하에 학습자가 윤리의식과 목적의식을 가지고 매체를 대해야 사이버 공간에서 원활하게 소통할 수 있는 미래인을 양성해 낼 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to research the educational meaning of communication in cyberspace in the digital age. Thus, the contents of this study will address this as follows:
First, the discussion about cyberspace in the digital age has continued not only in regards to computer related areas but also in broadcasting, telecommunications, philosophy, sociology, business administration, art, design and everyday communication. In the area of education, however, attention has been mostly limited to utilizing media. This means that there has been a lack of knowledgeable effort to interpret the meaning, functions, characteristics, and drawbacks of cyberspace in conjunction with the structure and nature of education. As a result of this lack of knowledgeable effort it affects the conditions of on the spot education. This study will begin by addressing the key words highlighted and their relationships to education.
Second, digital media affects many human lives in numerous ways due to the introduction of better forms of technology and the remarkable speed at which such technology is developed. In turn such developments have and will continue to affect changes to the industrial structure. In this study the changes in such philosophies have been examined. The meaning and features of the digital revolution have also been considered with the social and technical？scientific approach; and the changes in lifestyle that are caused by the digital media.
Third, facts reveal that virtual online space has been significant to the study of education and learning in everyday human social activities. Many people would argue that the internet plays an integral role in their lives in some way. Hence, this highlights the need forlays an integral rdigital space, and can be observedal ran expanding multidimenst the formt plays an integrathat is beyond the language dimenst t. In this study the subject and identity of this newlays an integrahas been beyonded. Also,d argue that the internetof a true relationship in virtual reality has been examined and provides the user with the sense that they exist in the virtual world.
Fourth, the changes in the educational paradigm have been observed as evidence of improving the human ability to deal with new environmental changes, and prepare for future orientated development. Based upon this recognition, the changes in understanding the media for the purpose of educational media literacy have been reviewed.
Fifth, constant reeducation is the most important thing in a rapidly changing digital society. It is important to realize the need and the meaning to form good habits. Thus, the lifelong learning paradigm is proven worth while in an ever changing society. In other words, the cyber community has the educational resources to facilitate people in terms of lifelong learning. In addition, it is necessary to consider the problems that exist in the school educational system as a motive of social development. Therefore to correct the prospect of future education, reeducation is fundamental to introducing a knowledgeable understanding of what a teachers and students？ role is. Because in cyberspace, there will be only an anonymous relationship. Therefore content orientated education is possible, and the hierarchical relationship between teachers and students would not exist in cyberspace. Cyberspace is therefore an open system that allows the status of teachers and students to be shifted. And cyberspace allows learners the flexibility to expand their knowledge in their own time and according to their ability.
In this context, becoming a member of a virtual community will enable the growth of a real community of the world. It is important to facilitate and establish healthy participants with teachers through education. In order to help digital electronic media have a positive influence on students？ learning activities, learners should control the media with a sense of morality and purpose under the guidance of adults or teachers. As a result, a person that is able to understand the different aspects of cyberspace will have the unhindered ability to communicate without any problems and therefore be adaptable to his or her environment.
