생태관광개발이 지역사회에 미치는 영향 : 경제적 · 사회문화적 · 환경적 측면의 지역주민 의식수준을 중심으로 = The Effect of Ecotourism Development on Local Community: Focus on Residents' Consciousness Status in Economic, Sociocultural and Environmental Aspects

The purpose of this research is to suggest appropriate directions and desirable plans for successful ecotourism development to local community through the investigation of residents' consciousness status about tourism effect in viewpoints of economy, socioculture and environment in the case of Suncheon Bay Area.
To carry out the purpose, first, the regionally given basic conditions for the accomplishment of ecotourism in the physical environment of Suncheon Bay Area are confirmed through tourism-geographical and ecological approach to evaluate the potential possibility of ecotourism development in Suncheon Bay Area. Second, through the survey of inhabitants' consciousness status, the effect of ecotourism development on local community is identified in economic, sociocultural and environmental aspects. Third, on the basis of results identified above, appropriate direction and effective methods for successful ecotourism development in the local scale are proposed.
Suncheon Bay Area involves remarkable ecologically academic values, phenomenal aesthetics and outstandingly universal conservational values with the combination of various immaculate natural resources and biodiversity. So this area is confirmed to arrive at the gratifying level in aspect of the ecological environment for the accomplishment of ecotourism.
Ecotourism in Suncheon Bay Area has not matured enough to offer economic, social and cultural benefits to local community satisfactorily. So to speak, ecotourism in this area does not yet establish the stable foundation. But judging from the research survey intended for local inhabitants, the conservation of natural environment which is one of the most important object is identified to achieve appreciably. In conclusion, the success of ecotourism depends on the sustainability of ecological place assets, the guarantee of providing economic benefit to local community and the encouragement of voluntary local residents' participation in public affairs.
