      Among Korean People``s ancesrors, three Sages are the great teachers of the Northeast Asia. They established Hwanguk, Sinsibaidalguk and Old Joscon. After that there were early states such. as Gaya, Buyro, Samhan and so on. According to the Record of Three Sages, jumong established the Kingdom of Coguryoo after Hacmosu established tribal state Goguryco. Including Later Gogm)``co set up by Dacjungsang, it lasted for 1165 years until Wanggeon established Goryco. Goryeo adpted the study of Confucianism as a national I``Olicy after King Sosurim established Tachak on sixth moon of his second year of reign. 111e quaJillcation for the admission of this national institution limited to the sons of aristOCl1ltS and they learned the Five Books of Confucianism, Collection of Literatures and Book of HiStOry. (Old Tang Books) Although they were educated based on the Literature·HistOry·Philosophy, the core was the education of benevolence and filial piety from the Five Books of Confucianism. It seems that they were also learned Analecrs and Book of Filial Piety, as the prerequisites for the liberal education. lbt is, Taehak in the capital emphasized the personality education lx&-d on the elements ofbenevolence and filial piety. In local areas, there were Gycongdang, the private education facility open for the lower classes and the curriculum was similar as the one of Taehak. It was common for ooth central and local institutions training martial ans like archery and seward for the national crisis. At the beginning, Goguryco developed its own thought and local religions. After the adoption of Confucianism, there was many changes with logical and general in nature as well as scholarly specialization that promOted national consciousness while made people civiliwd. It is important to realize that they emphasized the pelSOnality education based on benevolence and filial piety.
