국문 초록 (Abstract)

국이 글은 『三國史記』 列傳중 「勿稽子傳」과 「實兮傳」을 대상으로 하여 작품 속에서 그려진 정치적 좌절의 양상을 고찰하고, 여기에 투영된 金富軾의 시각을 분석하였다. 그리고 이와 함께 이 작품들의 문학사적 의의를 짚어보았다. 「물계자전」과 「실혜전」은 물계자와 실혜가 정치적 좌절을 당하게 되는 이유를 구체적으로 밝히지 않는다. 「물계자전」과 「실혜전」은 왕조 국가 체제가 안고 있는 구조적인 한계와 이로 인한 문제를 충성스러운 신하와 아첨하는 신하의 대립이라는, 순전히 개인적인 성품의 문제로 다루고 있는 것이다. 「물계자전」과 「실혜전」의 이러한 면모가 어떤배경에서 나온 것인지는 『삼국사기』를 편찬한 김부식의 당시 처지를 통해 추정해 볼수 있다. 김부식의 정계 은퇴는 고령으로 인해 스스로 물러난 것이 아니라 정치적인 패배때문이었는데, 당시 그의 처지는 <乞致仕表>에서 확인할 수 있으며, 이는 물계자와 실혜의 처지와 그대로 겹쳐진다. 김부식은 물계자와 실혜를 입전하여 『삼국사기』에 수록함으로써 자신의 처지와 뜻을 간접적으로 드러냈던 것이다. 「물계자전」과 「실혜전」은 이른바 충신과 간신, 군자와 소인의 대립을 그려내는 전형적인 구도를 처음으로 제시했다는 의의가 있다. 그리고 「물계자전」과 「실혜전」에서 설정된 이러한 구도와 서술 방식은 기본적인 틀을 유지한 채 변주되어 나타난다. 후대 서사문학작품에서 나타나는 ``충신과 간신의 갈등, 대립의 구도``의 앞선 사례로서 「물계자전」과「실혜전」은 의의가 있는 것이다. 정치적 좌절에 대한 대응 방식으로서 隱逸을 그려내고 있다는 점 또한 특기할 만한내용이며, 후대 유학자들에게 물계자와 실혜의 처신은 그들의 유교적 出處觀에 부합되는 것으로 이해되었다. 또한 「물계자전」과 「실혜전」의 결말 처리 방식은 주인공과 세계 사이의 화해할 수 없는 갈등의 지속을 상징하고 있다. 이는 隱逸傳의 장르적 관습을 수용한 것으로 후대의 전기소설의 결말 처리 방식과 흡사한바, 「물계자전」과 「실혜전」은 그 앞선사례로서 주목할 필요가 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is aimed to explicate the political frustration expressed in the biography of Mulgyeja(勿稽子) and Silhye(實兮) collected in the Chronicle of the Three Kingdom(三國史記) and the viewpoint of Kim, Bu Sik the editor, and add to its meaning in the history of literature. In the biographies of Mulgyeja(勿稽子) and Silhye(實兮), the organizational contradiction of Silla dynasty is not discussed, but all of problems is treated as the interindividual conflict between the loyal and disloyal subject. This features of the biographies is concerned with Kim, Bu Sik`s situation when he compiled the Chronicle of the Three Kingdom. He retired from politics for political defeat, not for old age. His situation at that time is described in the letter of resignation(乞致仕表), and it is correspond to the situation of Mulgyeja and Silhye. He reflected his situation and intention on the biographies. The biographies of Mulgyeja and Silhye have the meanings in the history of literature which presented the typical model of the conflict between the loyal and disloyal subject. The conflicts between the loyal and disloyal subject in the later literature are all variations on this. The seclusion of Mulgyeja and Silhye were understood as good conduct coincided with Confucianism by Confucian in Joseon(朝鮮) dynasty. And the ending of the biographies symbolize the impossible reconciliation between self and world, it is the preceding case of the ending of Jeonki(傳奇).
