윤이상의 <알토 플루트 독주를 위한 ‘살로모’> 작품분석 및 연주법 제안 = An Analysis of Isang Yun’s < Salomo for Alto Flute Solo > and Alto Flute Performance Techniques

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 윤이상 <알토 플루트 독주를 위한 ‘살로모’>(Salomo, solo fur Alto-Flote, 1978)에 나타난 음악적 특징과 알토 플루트 연주기법을 분석하여, 이 곡을 효과적으로 연주하고자 하는 플루트 연주자들에게 도움을 주는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 윤이상 <살로모>의 작품 배경과 음악적 특징을 알아보았으며, <살로모>에 나타난 알토 플루트의 특성을 분석하여 효과적인 연주기법을 제시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, <살로모>는 윤이상의 음악적 특징인 동양적 사유를 서양의 악기와 어법으로 표현한 대표작으로 동양적 음색의 구현, 확장기법 교육, 예술철학 중심 음악교육 등에 활용 가능성이 큰 작품인 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, <살로모>는 단순한 독주곡을 넘어서, 알토 플루트(Alto Flute)라는 악기의 확장된 표현 가능성을 깊이 있게 탐색한 작품으로 청중에게 깊은 몰입 경험을 제공하도록 곡을 구성한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 알토 플루트 독주곡인 <살로모>는 연주자에게 현대 음악 기법과 해석 능력을 동시에 요구하는 고난도의 작품으로 이를 제대로 연주하기 위해서는 알토 플루트의 특성을 이해하고, 알토 플루트의 확장기법을 순차적으로 연습한 후, 곡을 해석하는 순서의 단계별 훈련이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the musical characteristics and alto flute performance techniques in Isang Yun’s Salomo, in order to support f lute performers and educators who wish to perform or teach this piece. To this end, the study first explores the background and musical features of Salome, then analyzes the characteristics and performance techniques of the alto flute as demonstrated in the piece, and finally proposes effective performance techniques based on this analysis. The conclusions drawn from this study are as follows. First, Salome is considered a representative work that expresses Eastern philosophical thought through Western instruments and musical idioms―an essential trait of Isang Yun’s musical style. It is a piece with great potential for use in the realization of Eastern timbres, instruction in extended techniques, and music education centered on artistic philosophy. Second, Salome goes beyond being a mere solo piece; it is a work that deeply explores the expressive possibilities of the alto flute and is composed in a way that pro vides audiences with an immersible listening experience. Third, as a so lo piece for alto flute, Salome is a highly challenging work that demands both contemporary performance techniques and interpretative skills from the performer. In order to perform the piece effectively, it is essential to understand the unique characteristics of the alto flute, practice extended techniques in a step-by-step manner and undergo a sequential training process that leads to the musical interpretation of the piece.
