This research's aim is to ascertain the influence of the perceived Parenting Attitude by the parent and the Ego-Resilience to Adolescent's Internet Addiction. This research's aim is to represent the using state of adolescent's internet addiction and to prevent from internet addiction by recognizing the influence of perceived parenting attitude by parent and ego-resilience to adolescent's internet addiction.
In this research, the parameters of the enquiry are as follows:
Study question 1. What are the influences of the adolescent's perception of the parenting attitude demonstrated by the parent in respect to the adolescent's internet addiction?
Study question 2. What are the influences of the adolescent's ego-resilience in respect to the adolescent's internet addiction?
Study question 3. What kind of connections are, there between the perceived parent's Parenting Attitude and the adolescent's Ego-Resilience?
The research methodology used the self reporting type of 328 adolescent respondents living in Jeollanam-do, in a Gwang-Yang city middle school. The statistical methodology included data collection and encoding using the SPSS WIN 16.0 program.
First, the connection between the adolescent's perception of the parenting attitude by the parent to the adolescent's internet addiction showed a meaningful negative correlation between love and internet addiction, and a meaningful positive relationship between denial and over-protection.
These results show that when the child feels the parents' love, the degree of internet addiction decreased, and when the child feels the parents' denial and over-protection, the internet addiction degree increased.
Second, the connection between ego-resilience and internet addiction showed a meaningful relationship. Ego-resilience's sub factor, curiosity and vitality, showed a positive relationship between increasing the rating degree of internet addction. This can be stated such that when ego-resilience is high, internet addiction rating is also high.
Third, the relationship between the adolescent's preception of the parenting attitude and the ego-resilience of the adolescent had a meaningful relationship. This means, as much as the adolescent feels that their parents parenting attitude is loving and befriending, the ego-resilience increased, and as much as the adolescent felt denial or over-protection, the ego-resilience decreased.
As a result of this research, the researchers can state that the adolescent's perception of the parenting attitude demonstrated by the parents affects internet addiction as well the ego-resilience of the adolescent addiction positively. This finding results indicates that providing education information to parents in preventing internet addiction is important.
