Currently, Korea has lots of strangers from other countries. This began in 2000, when the nation had started to be a multi-cultural society. If it is considered only in terms of cultural assimilation, which is a current trend, it might emphasize the superiority of other cultures. However, there is a new recognition of multi-culturalism, recently, in order to assimilate the differences between natives and emigrates, mainstreamers and non-mainstreamers, majority people and minority people, their culture and other culture at the same rank. This recognition in literature can be named multi-cultural literature, as it is based on multi-culturalism. There are fictions and novels for teenagers, as well as fairy tales. These areas are taking an active part in the multi-cultural field for the utmost of ten years. When it comes to making Korean multi-culturalism an active epic genre, Namaste (2004) by Park Beomshin, Wild rose (2008) by Jung Dosang, and WhanDeuck(2008) by Kim Ryu-ryeong are representative works. The kinds of characters in Korean multi-cultural literature indicate literary figures that have had no previous experience in Korean literature history. Thanks to these writers, Korean writers are able to write against exclusive and unfair human relations, and discrimination to the culture, close to the relative value. Although people are all different, after understanding multi-cultural writers, we could believe each other when we meet others and also will be able to suggest a vision of unity. The conception of inter-culturality includes Korea`s modern multi-cultural literature. Inter-culturality is a concern about something between a boundary and a contingency. The multi-cultural fictions stress human rights as an important matter, but not only that one. It is not only about human rights. It is also about the universal literary world of humanity. It is more important to express the universal value of humanity than human rights.
