In the present investigation the corrosion behavior and resistance for Al6061, SiCp/Al and SiCw/Al composites are evaluated under pH 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 in distilled water environment. The electrochemical polarization thchnique was employed in the investigation. Through the investigation the following results are estimated pitting corrosion under pH 3, 5, 7, 9 and uniform corrosion under pH 11.
The corrosion rate were the worst in the pH 3 environment, pH 11, 9, 7 and 5 in order. And the corrocion resistance of SiCw/Al and SiCp/ Al have increased than Al6061 matrix.
