    Six Sigma, which was develpoed by Michael Harry of Motorola in 1987, has been widespread to many companies worldwide, standing on its merits verified by lots of leading companies and systemized by GE.
    LG and Samsung, the biggest conglomerates in Korea, also adopted Six Sigma as a core management strategy and are currently gaining remarkable effects, in spite of their comparatively short histories of Six Sigma implementation. Six Sigma is meaningful for these early adopters, for it has reinforced the commitment of management in regard of customer satisfaction and quality priority.
    In many other companies that adopted Six Sigma, however, the effects could not satisfy their expectations, because they did not understand the necessity of systematic preparations for Six Sigma deployment. It is essential to build Six Sigma organizations up and provide each level of employees with proper educations. But what is more important is to strengthen basic constitutions for Six Sigma management. Many of the Korean companies deploying Six Sigma are passing over the fact that Motorola and GE have standardized their production methods in order to maintain the improvements gained from implementing Six Sigma
    No matter how well we select and improve CTQs, the results cannot be sustained, if the processes are not properly standardized. We often hear about one-time improvements, which seem to make benefits but result in losses without any substantial and sustainable effects.
    This paper deals with the standard production methods of leading companies in Six Sigma, highlighting the roadmaps and performances of S Company to find ways to enhance Six Sigma effects on the basis of standardization.
