천리마 시기 소설의 현대성과 천리마 기수의 전형 창조 = Modernity in Chollima Period Novels and Creation of the Archetype of Chollima Movement Leaders

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 천리마 시기 소설에서의 현대성과 천리마 기수의 형상화 문제를 고찰하는것을 목적으로 한다. 천리마 시기, 문학에서도 천리마 운동은 중요한 지침으로 작용했다. 1960년 11월 27일, 김일성은 「천리마 시대에 맞는 문학·예술을 창조하자」라는 교시를 통해 천리마 기수의 모습을 올바르게 반영할 것을 지시하였다. 이 시기 작가들에게 주어진 가장 중요한 과업은 항일혁명투쟁의 혁명 전통을 계승한 천리마 기수들의 전형을 창조하는 일이었다. 천리마 기수들은 생활의 모든 분야에서 기적을 창조하는 한편, 온갖낡은 것들과 투쟁하였다. 또한 인민들의 사상을 혁명적으로 개조, 교양하며 노동계급의 긍정적인 모범이 되었다. 천리마 기수를 형상화 하는 데 있어 가장 중요한 문제는 현대성을 구현하는 일이었다. 현대성은 생활의 진실한 반영을 전제로 한다. 천리마 시기의 급변하는 현실을 반영하는 작업은 도식주의에 대한 강한 비판과 함께 이 시기 동안 지속적으로 논의된다. 이에 작가들은 당이 주도하는 현지 파견 사업에 적극적으로 참여하며 인민들과의 연계를 지속적으로 유지한다. 이러한 노력은 전변하는 천리마 현실과 천리마 기수들의 전형을 창조하는 데 반드시 선행되어야 할 작업이었다. 한편, 현대성 문제가 끊임없이 제기되면서 이 시기북한 문학에서는 실화나 미담을 바탕으로 한 작품들이 다수 창작되었다. 이러한 작품들이 단순한 사건의 나열이나 기록의 수준을 넘어서기 위해서는 전형적인 환경과 전형적인 성격을 창조하여 예술적 진실성을 확보해야만 했다. 따라서 천리마 현실을 진실하게 반영하고, 천리마 기수의 전형을 창조하는 문제는 이 시기 문학에서 중요한 의미를 지닌다.

This study aims at discussing modernity in novels written in the Collima movement period and examines the archetype of Chollima movement leaders. On November 27, 1960, Kim Il Sung ordered writers and artists to shape the features of Chollima movement leaders properly through an instruction "Create literature and art fit for the Collima Period" Therefore, it was very important for the literature in that period to truthfully reflect the reality in the period and to create the archetype of Chollima movement leaders. A prerequisite for shaping the Chollima leaders was to realize modernity. Modernity is be premised on the true reflection of real life. Along with strong criticism against schematism, reflection of a rapidly changing reality in the Chollima movement period was continuously discussed throughout the period. Writers continued to maintain the relationship with the people actively participating in local secondment projects led by the communist party. Meanwhile, with the modernity issue being constantly raised, a lot of works based on true stories or commendable episodes were created during that period in North Korea. In those works, Chollima leaders came to the forefront of a battle to construct a socialist society, creating miracles in every aspect of life. In addition, they played a role to revolutionary reform and cultivate the ideology of the people by fighting against various carryovers from the past. After all, Chollima movement leaders were depicted as positive example of the working labor class who do their best in their mission and communist archetype.
