장기 요양 보호 대상 노인의 시설 이용 의사에 미치는 영향 요인에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 장기요양보호 대상노인의 시설이용의사에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하는데 목적을 두고 있으며 노부모부양 의무에 대해 노인이 가지고 있는 태도가 시설이용의사에 미치는 영향에 초점을 맞춘다. 자료는 한국보건사회연구원에서 실시한 『2001년도 노인장기요양보호서비스 욕구조사」이다. 연구결과, 장기요양보호 대상노인의 인지적 장애가 심할수록 시설이용의사는 높아지고 월가구 소득이 높을수록 비동거 자녀수가 많을수록 시설이용의사는 낮아짐을 보여준다. 또한 주수발자가 느끼는 수발부담이 클 때 시설이용의사는 높아짐을 알 수 있다. 특히, 노부모부양 의무에 대해 노인이 가지고 있는 태도가 전통적일 때(부모가 노환으로 자리에 눕게 될 때 수발에 대한 일차적 책임이 가족에게 있다고 응답한 경우), 시설이용의사에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과에 따른 정책적 제언이 논의되었으며 본 연구의 한계와 노후거주형태의 하나인 시설이용에 대한 앞으로의 연구에 대한 방향도 제시하였다.

This study analyzes what factors influence an older person’s expectations of using institutions in Korea. Logit regression is used to estimate the probability of an older person’s inclination to use institutions. Significant variables were mental function total score, number of separate living children, monthly household income, primary caregiver’s felt burden in predicting possible future-use of institutions. Particularly, with respect to an older person’s attitudes toward filial care, traditional characteristics regarding elderly support compared to modem characteristics, remained statistically significant predictors of a low rate of potential use of institutional care.
