he purpose of this study is to explore the value of overseas volunteer activities through Taekwondo. The results of the study are summarized as follows; First, overseas volunteer service was found that the research participants prepared for volunteer activities by getting advice from their senior volunteer members or getting information through mass media. Second, they generally overcame their difficulties well through meeting with their past pupils and local acquaintances and remarkable results in the Taekwondo contest. Third, overall Taekwondo volunteer activity experiences showed that they tried their best to popularize Taekwondo. through various curriculums, such as etiquette, Poomsae, sparring, and demonstration. Fourth, it was found that the research participants spent their time studying foreign languages, meeting with their pupils, doing personal exercises and hobbies, and conducting orphanage services when they were not doing Taekwondo volunteer activities. Fifth, it was found that the research participants communicated with people around them while spending time with them throwing party, inviting them to home, doing hobbies together, traveling, and participating in the celebrating and mourning events. Sixth, most of the research participants were disappointed that they could not finish what they had tried to do. They hoped to participate in the volunteer activities again if they are given another chance in the future. Seventh, the research participants had an opinion that the volunteer activities gave them an opportunity to think about self-reliance, active life, and improvement of self-esteem as well as an opportunity to look back on themselves. Eighth, they also thought that there are many things to learn from Taekwondo overseas volunteer activities that should be performed proactively and autonomously based on one’s own will and they considered these activities as self-realization.
