남성 병영생활전문상담관의 성역할 경험에 대한 내러티브 탐구 = A Narrative Inquiry about Gender Role Experience by Male Barracks Professional Counselors

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 직업적인 특성과 사회적인 성 정체성에 대한 제한에도 불구하고 상담자의 길을 선택한 남성에 대해 이해하고자 하였다. 특히, 병영생활전문상담관을 선택하게 된 과정은 어떻게 되는지, 남성으로서 어떠한 경험을 하는지 심층적으로 탐구하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 현재 군대에서 근무를 하고 있는 남성 병영생활전문상담관 3인을 대상으로 내러티브 탐구방법을 적용하여 생애사, 상담직업 선택과정, 상담관으로서의 경험에 대한 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 연구 참여자들의 삶과 상담 경험의 내용을 분석하며 연구 결과를 도출하였다. 연구 참여자들은 개인적인 가치관으로 상담자의 길을 걸었으나 사회적 남성의 역할에 완전히 벗어나지 못해 병영생활전문상담관을 선택하였다. 또한, 군대에서 남성 상담자로서 특별한 경험을 하며, 개인적인 성장을 하였다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 연구에 대한 논의 및 의의, 제한점과 추후 연구에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.

This study attempted to understand men who chose the path of a counselor despite limitations on professional characteristics and social gender identity. In
particular, I tried to explore in-depth what happened to the process of choosing a barracks professional counselor and what kind of experience I have as a man. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted on the life history, counseling job selection process, and experience as a counselor by applying a narrative inquiry method to three male barracks professional counselors currently working in the military. The research results were derived by analyzing the contents of the life and counseling experiences of the study participants. The study participants walked the path of a counselor with personal values, but they did not completely deviate from the role of social men, so they chose barracks professional counselors. In addition, he had a special experience as a male counselor in the military and developed personal growth. Based on the research results, discussions, significance, limitations, and suggestions for further research were presented.
