비무장지대 가치 인식의 계량적 분석 = A Quantitative Analysis of Recognizing the Korean DMZ Value

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The earlier studies on the monetary value of the Korean DMZ are criticized for their irrelevant valuation. This paper argues that its monetary value may be more relevantly estimated with the concept of brand value. Who gives the DMZ more value? First,the more a person believes he/she knows the DMZ,he/she evaluates the DMZ more.A person``s correct knowledge of the DMZ, however, does not explain how much he/she assesses the DMZ. Second, a deterrenceminded person estimates the DMZ less than does one who regards such values as ecology to be the most important. This is in contrastwith the factthatwardeterrence orpeace is most frequently answered among various values of the DMZ. The monetary value of the DMZ may be maximized with values other than peace. Last, the residents/visitors of Gangwon appraise the worth ofthe DMZ more than do those ofGyeonggi.
