Purpose: This study examined the effects of family resilience enhancement program based on Solution-Focused approach for childhood cancer family on family adaptation.
Method: Non-equivalent control group time series was used. A total of thirty-five childhood cancer family members participated in this study. The Family Resilience Enhancement Program based on Solution-Focused approach was conducted two sessions a week for 50minutes for 8sessions. Data were analysed by descriptive statistics, 2- test, t-test, Kolmogrov-Smirnov test, two-way repeated measure ANOVA using SPSS 21.0 program.
Result: There were significant changes in family adaptation, family integration, family psychosocial stability, and family medical service use between the groups at three different times.
Conclusion: The Solution-Focused Family Resilience Enhancement Program was effective to improve family adaptation for childhood cancer family. Therefore, the program needs to be applied in a customized way to the characteristics of childhood cancer family in community, and individually and(or) collectively according to its purposes.
