균여의 <普賢十種願王歌>에 대한 문학치료학적 해석 = An Interpretation of the Monk Gyunyeo`s <Bohyeonsipjongwonwangga(普賢十種願王歌)> through Literary Therapeutic View

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to unveil the meaning of <Bohyeonsipjongwonwangga> written by the great monk Gyunyeo to save mankind through Literary Therapeutic View. Gyunyeo had such an ugly face that he was even abandoned by his parents when he was a child. After they passed away early, he became a bonze. He devoted himself to Buddhism. After having read the <Bohyeonhaengwonpum> of Hwaeom sutra, he wrote <Bohyeonsipjongwonwangga> to make common people realize the fundamental meaning of Buddhism. According to Bohyeonsipjongwonwangga, it was emphasized to praise Buddha and admit and respect the values of all people in 10 different temples. It is stated that even though people are desperately in need of Buddha`s help as a saver, Buddha cannot exist without the people. It also insisted that the earned merit and value should be returned to people with respect all the time. In other words, an important value was given to save every individual with great respect on all human relationships. A tale which is similar to Bohyeonsipjongwonwangga in terms of narrative development is ``A Trip of Pursuing Happiness``. In this story, devastated Gubok goes on a trip and meets and helps many people in sorrow and unhappiness regain a smile with sincerity during his trip. In the process, he finds his happiness again. In terms of epic of literary work, this story is close to Bohyeonsipjongwonwangga.
