This study aims at designing and developing a virtual museum online that provides comprehensive on-site information using information technology such as panoramic photography techniques, electronic maps and hypermedia for open outdoor spaces. Conventional virtual museums either have implemented virtual exhibition space on the Internet and displayed relics and artworks in it, or have maximized visual effects by projecting additional images into the real world using augmented reality.
In this study, the goal is to represent the actual space that providing a direct visiting opportunity for the space and additional motivation for further learning. For this purpose using panoramic images to revive real-world spaces where actual users could move beyond geographical, spatial, and temporal constraints and acquire relevant knowledge along the path of the site.
Mangwoo History and Culture Park, 57-1, Mangwoo-dong, Jungnang-gu, Seoul, was constructed as a new cemetery in Gyeongseong as a 700 thousand square meters, while former cemetery had been induced relocation through taxation for urban development in 1933 during the Japanese Colonial Period.
