‘이우환 미술관’의 장소특정성과 공간디자인 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is focused on the site-specificity of Lee Ufan Museum space, one of the projects made in Naoshima (直島) region realized through the practice will of Hukudake Soichiro, chairman, Benesse Group of Japan onto the establishment of a new public culture art space. The Naoshima Project is combined with a variety of targets including Chichu Art Museum, Benesse Art Site, Art House (家) Project, Lee Ufan Museum and etc. This study is focusing especially on the subjects: Ando Tadao’s architecture characteristics and the relation between the artwork installation and the exhibition space that infuses the nature and arts. For more details, I comprehensively analyze and discuss the significance of site-specificity that attracts the attention of the art field newly again these days and the placeness of Ando Tadao’s architecture. Thus, the analysis goes further onto the characteristics of the exhibition space of Lee Ufan Museum where the nature and architecture of this local area are communicated with every element of arts, so that this study proves the direction for discussion on site-specificity by examining artwork cases installed both inside and outside of Lee Ufan Museum such as Relatum. In addition, this study is to find out the fact that Lee Ufan Museum is a cultural space with site-specificity where elements of the region’s nature, architecture and art communicate and also serves as a position to activate special artistic experience and to mention in academic perspective that Lee Ufan Museum is a positive precedent that points out the direction of new era that distributes to discourses on site-specific art.
