동시대 연기자 교육에 있어 ‘배우훈련’이 지향해야 할 의미 = 배우의‘준비된 상태’(a State of Readiness)

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Exploring the practical meaning of ‘performer training’ in this contemporary era is an integral part of the reflection as a way to answer what is a performer and the art of acting. The role of a performer is being present in the here and now, virtual space and time, where the spectators see a specific play. The foundational place of a performer’s acting necessarily needs to meet what the spectator wants to experience as they are also being there. Those western and non-western theatre directors’ and practitioners’ concepts through this thesis neither highlight learning a specific training method nor their approaches come from an impractical knowledge. Rather these theatre artists ask us to severely interrogate what a performer’s identity is on stage for which they argue that the possible answer is how the performer rigorously encounter his/her body through a specific training. Although we live in this contemporary era where everyone has inevitably become materialistic more than ever, this study would provide a new perspective of performer training in order to explore and develop effective way(s) for contemporary performers.
