    四鹽化炭素의 投與로서 肝組織뿐 아니라 肝組織에 미치는 中毒現象을 살펴보고 나아가서 還元型 glutathione(GSH)를 CCl_4와 倂用함으로서 肝 및 肺組織에 미치는 影響을 알기 위하여 家兎를 材料로 하고 CCl_4와 olive oil의 1:1混合液을 體重 ㎏當 0.3㎖씩 週 2回, 2週間 續續한 群과 GSH를 體重 ㎏當 20㎎ 投與한 群, 및 GSH와 CCl_4를 倂用한 群으로 나누어 投與後 1,3 및 5日에 各各 肝 및 肺組織의 蛋白質, NP-SH(non-protein sulfhydryl) 및 NP-SS(non-protein disulfide)를 定量하고 또한 肺洗滌液의 表面活性度와 蛋含量을 測定하였다. 또한 體重, 肝重量 및 左肺重量을 測定하여 肝重量 對 體重比 및 左肺重量對 體重比를 算出하고 對照群의 그것들과 서로 比較하여 다음과 같은 結果를 얻었다.
    1. 對照群에 있어서 體重은 2.45±0.15㎏이었고 肝組織의 蛋白質, NP-SH 및 NP-SS는 各各 108.3±12.05㎎ wet. wt., 8.30±0.75 μ㏖/gm wet. wt. 이었다. 肺組織의 蛋白量, NP-SH 및 NP-SS는 各各 50.2±6.35㎎/gm wet. wt., 3.01±0.42 μ㏖/gm wet. wt. 및 6.02±0.50 μ㏖/gm wet. wt. 이었다.
    한편 肝洗滌液의 表面活性度는 最大張力이 58.0±3.0 dyne/㎝이었고 最小張力은 6.0±2.5 dyne/㎝ 이었으며 stability index는 1.63이었다. 肺洗滌液의 蛋白量은 108.0±9.0㎎/gm wet. wt. 이었고 肝重量對 體重比는 17.76이었으며 左肺重量對 體重比는 1.31이었다.
    2) CCl_4 投與群에서는 肝 및 肺組織에서 모두 蛋白量 및 SH基가 對照에 比하여 減少되었고 GSH 投與群에서는 모두 큰變化가 없었으나 GSH와 CCl_4를 倂合한 群에서는 大體로 CCl_4 單獨投與 보다는 높으나 GSH 投與群보다는 낮은값을 나타내었다.
    3) 肺洗滌液의 表面活性度는 CCl_4 投與로서는 對照에 比하여 低下되었으나 GSH 投與群에서는 큰 差異가 없었고 GSH와 CCl_4를 倂用한 群에서는 大體로 CCl_4投與群 보다는 높은 傾向을 나타내었다.
    4) CCl_4 投與로서 體重의 減少는 顯著하였고 反面 肝重量은 相當히 增加되어 그 結果 肝重量對 體重比는 增加하였고 左肺重量對 體重比는 큰 差異가 없었다. GSH 投與로서는 體重, 肝重量, 左肺重量, 肝重量對 體重比 및 左肺重量對體 中比가 對照에 比하여 差異를 나타내지 않았으나 GSH와 CCl_4의 倂用으로서는 各 値가 大體로 CCl_4 單獨投與群보다는 높은 傾向을 나타내었다.

    The fact that the liver functions decrease when the liver is damaged is well established, but little has been reported whether the primary liver damage causes the decreased metabolism of other organs, particularly the lung.
    In the present study, carbon tetrachlorid (CCl_4) was injected intraperiteneally to the rabbit, and the changes of protein, NP-SH and NP-SS levels of the liver and lung were observed. Also, the pulmenary surfactant activities as well as the protein content of the lung washings were studied. The changes of the body weight, left lung weight and the liver weight were also measured and the left lung wt: BW ratio as well as the liver wt: BW ratio were calculated.
    CCl_4 was mainly used as the mixture with olive oil(1:1) in the dose of 0.5㎖ per ㎏ BW, and the experiment was performed at 1,3 and 5 days after the CCl_4 injection.
    Reduced glutathione (GSH) in the dose of 20㎎ per ㎏ BW was used either singularly or in combination with CCl_4 in order to elucidate the effectiveness of GSH on the CCl_4 intoxicated animal.
    The results thus obtained are summarized as follows:
    1) In the normal (control) group, the protein, NP-SH and NP-SS of the liver was 108.3±2.05㎎/gm wet wt., 8.30±0.75㎛ol/gm wet wt. and 6.80±0.55㎛ol/gm wet. wt., respectively. In the lung tissue, the protein, NP-SH and NP-SS level was 50.2±6.35㎎/gm wet wt., 3.01±0.42㎛ol/gm wet wt. and 6.02±0.50㎛ol/gm wet wt., respectively. The maximun surface tension, minmum surface tension and stability index of the lung washings was 58.0±3.0dyne/㎝, 6.0±2.5dyne/㎝ and 1.63, respectively, and protein content of the lung washings was 108.0±9.0㎎/gm wet wt. The body weight was 2.45±0.15㎏, and the liver wt: BW ratio was 17.76 while the left lung wt: BW ration was 1.31.
    2) The protein and sulfhydryl(SH) levels of the liver and lung in the CCl_4 injected proup were decreased comparing to the control, and when GSH alone was injected, there was no noticeable change. However, when GSH and CCl_4 were combinded, both the liver and lumg showed generally higher values of the protein and SH levels than CCI_4 injected group, and lower levels than the GSH injected group.
    3) The surfactant activities of the lung washings were decreased when CCl_4 was used, and the injection of GSH alone produced no significant change from the control. When GSH and CCl_4 were combined, the surfactant activities showed a tendency of increased levels than the CCl_4 injected group.
    4) The decrease of the body weight was prominent when CCl_4 was injected but the liver weight increased noticeablly with the result of the increased liver wt: BW ratio. The left lung wt: BW ratio did not, however, change much in the CCl_4 injected group. When GSH alone was injected, the body weight, liver wt, left lung wt, liver wt: BW ratio as well as the left lung wt: BW ratio did not change noticeablly from the control. When GSH and CCl_4 were combined, the above values showed a general tendency of increase comparing with the CCl_4 injected group.
